Domaine Jean Tardy Nuits St Georges "Au Bas de Combe" V.V. 2020, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir from old vines (planted 1937) in the Au Bas de Combe lieu-dit (0.45ha) on the Vosne-Romanée border of Nuits-Saint-Georges, with clay-limestone soils. The grapes are hand-harvested, fully destemmed, given a cold pre-fermentation maceration, and undergo alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts followed by 18-20 days total cuvaison. Aged 18 months in oak barrels using 35-40% new wood.

Tasting Note:

Aromas show poached plum and black cherry along with earth and spice notes. The palate delivers richness and concentration with robust texture and firm tannic structure. Overall impression is one of solid intensity and persistent depth reflecting the ripe yet structured vintage character in Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir.
