Domaine Baron Thenard Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru 2019, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir from the lieux dit Clos du Roi in the Corton hill, located on the stony, iron-rich limestone and red clay slopes of the hill of Corton. The old vines are farmed traditionally using seasonal plowing and natural cover crop. The fruit is fully destemmed and ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in century-old, open-top wooden vats. Maceration lasts two weeks with twice-daily foot-treading for gentle extraction. The wine ages for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels with 5% new oak and is kept on its fine lees without systematic racking.

Tasting Note:

The wine reveals deep aromas of cherry, fig, potpourri, and notes of forest floor. The palate is dry and balanced, matching its rich texture and firm tannins with fresh, integrated acidity. The finish is long and savory, leaving a clean impression of dark berries, soft spices, and mineral depth.
