Chateau de Chamirey Mercurey "Cuvee Hors Ligne" 2021, 1.5L

Made from 100% Pinot Noir grown on the “Les?Chavances” parcel (1.15?ha, vine age 36 years) in Mercurey, this cuvée is rooted in clay?limestone soils rich in iron and silt. Grapes were hand?harvested, 30% vinified as whole clusters with gentle remontages and manual pigeages, and fermented using natural yeasts. The wine was matured 17?months in oak barrels (30% new) followed by a three?month finish in stainless steel. The name Hors Ligne revives an 1855 classification term for exceptional wines, and this cuvée has been produced since 2018.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of black cherry, raspberry and subtle floral notes combine with hints of spice and fine oak. The palate is vibrant and precise, showing layered red and dark fruit supported by firm yet polished tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is long and mineral?driven, with clarity and depth that underline its refined structure and aging potential.
