Domaine Guy Amiot Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Caillerets" 2020, 750ml

Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Caillerets" 2020 is sourced from a 0.66 ha southeast-facing parcel on a steep slope in Chassagne-Montrachet, planted with 70-year-old Chardonnay vines on poor clay-limestone soils with deep roots anchored in limestone bedrock. Grapes are manually harvested and gently crushed, fermented in French oak barrels with bâtonnage, and undergo spontaneous malolactic fermentation at cellar temperature. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrel, with 30% new oak used, followed by 6 months in tank before bottling.

Tasting Note:

Outstanding. Firm reduction renders the nose unreadable today. More revealing are the rich, generous and full-bodied flavors that possess outstanding intensity along with ample minerality on the impressively long, very dry and lingering finale that is shaped by green apple-inflected acidity.
