Domaine Matrot Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes" 2019, 750ml

100% Chardonnay sourced from four parcels averaging 30 years of age, located on clay-limestone soils between Meursault-Perrières and Charmes-Dessus. The grapes were harvested manually and pressed whole-cluster in a pneumatic press, followed by 24 hours of settling and barrel fermentation using indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled conditions. Full malolactic fermentation was completed, and the wine was aged for 15 months on fine lees in French oak barrels (1 to 3 years old), then finished with 3 months in stainless steel before bottling, with bâtonnage applied as needed.

Tasting Note:

Aromatically, it shows brioche, almond, and soft spice. The palate is pulpy and expansive, with a creamy texture and fine bitterness that extends the finish. Overall, it’s a rich and harmonious Meursault Charmes with mineral tension and ageing potential.
