Pig's Nose Blended Whisky, 700ml
Pig’s Nose is a blended Scotch whisky created in 1977 by MJ Dowdeswell & Co as a companion to Sheep Dip, originally for in-house use at a pub in Oldbury on Severn. It later became part of Invergordon Distillers and was acquired by Whyte & Mackay in 1993. In 2005, the brand was taken over by Alex Nicol, who founded Spencerfield Spirits, and it is now owned by Ian Macleod Distillers. The blend contains 40% malt whisky sourced from Speyside, Islay, and the Lowlands, combined with grain whisky from Invergordon. It is matured in first-fill bourbon casks and bottled at five years of age. The name reflects its intended smoothness and easy-drinking style, with a focus on quality at an accessible price point.
Tasting Note:
Nose: Notes of butterscotch, light wood, and a touch of pine.
Palate: Creamy and mellow, with flavors of sweet malt, dry oak, and a hint of ash.
Finish: A pinch of pepper adds subtle warmth, and the finish is moderate with a gentle spice.
