Martin Ray "Synthesis" Pinot Noir 2023, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir from multiple hillside vineyards in the Russian River Valley on Goldridge sandy loam and other alluvial soils. The grapes are hand-harvested, fully destemmed, and undergo alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in open-top fermenters after cold maceration, followed by 18-21 days maceration with gentle punch-downs. Malolactic completed. Aged 12 months in French oak barrels using 30% new wood.

Tasting Note:

Aromas show dried strawberry and cherry along with sandalwood and floral notes. The palate delivers medium body and focus with firm tannic structure and juicy acidity. Overall impression is one of crisp intensity and clean persistence reflecting the cool vintage character in Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
