Cakebread Cellars Merlot 2021, 750ml

100% Merlot sourced from estate vineyards throughout Napa Valley, including cooler sites at Suscol Springs Ranch and warmer valley floor parcels in Rutherford. The grapes were hand-harvested and fermented with extended skin contact. The wine was aged for 17 months in French oak barrels, with 44% new oak.

Tasting Note:

The 2021 opens with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, ripe plum, and mocha with undertones of crushed stone and violet. The palate is lush, silky, and elegant with concentrated fresh blackberry and black plum, fine tannins, bright acidity, and notes of toast and oak on a long, polished finish. Balanced, fruit-forward, and harmonious.
