Joh. Jos. Prüm "Wehlener Sonnenuhr" Riesling Spätlese 2022 is sourced from steep, south-facing slopes in the Mosel Valley, where Devonian slate soils contribute to the wine’s mineral tension. The grapes are 100% Riesling, harvested by hand and fermented as whole clusters. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel using ambient yeast, with no malolactic conversion. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for several months without oak contact. 

Tasting Note:

The nose shows ripe white peach, yellow apple, and citrus, with floral notes and a hint of flint. The palate is supple and bright, balancing sweetness with high acidity and slate-driven minerality. The finish is long and precise, with lingering notes of lime, lemongrass, and salt. This is a focused and age-worthy Spätlese with clarity and tension.
