Domaine Bernard Gripa Saint Joseph Rouge 2024, 750ml

This 100% Syrah is sourced from steep granite terraces around the villages of Mauves and Tournon in the southern portion of the Saint-Joseph appellation. Vines range in age from 20 to 80 years old. The fruit was partially destemmed and fermented in open-top concrete and oak vats using natural yeasts, followed by gentle daily pump-overs and punch-downs. The wine aged for 12 months in 228-liter and 600-liter French oak demi-muids (10% to 15% new oak) before bottling.

Tasting Note:

The wine opens with aromas of dark plum, blackberry, crushed black pepper, black olive, and subtle floral violet notes. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied and focused, offering concentrated dark fruit and smoky granite mineral flavors framed by fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is clean, persistent, and savory, with notes of pepper and dark berries.
