Jean Luc Colombo Cornas "Les Mejeans" Rouge 2022, 750ml

This 100% Syrah is grown on steep granite terraces located in the northern part of the Cornas appellation. The grapes were hand-harvested and fully de-stemmed before fermentation began in stainless steel tanks. The juice stayed on the skins for a period of three weeks with gentle daily pumping over to extract color and tannin. The wine aged for 12 months in used oak barrels. After the wood ageing was complete, the wine stayed in the bottle for 6 months of stabilization before release.

Tasting Note:
The nose has aromas of blackcurrant, iris, and toasted coffee. The palate has a solid tannic structure with a round mouthfeel and flavors of fresh black fruits and licorice. The finish is elegant and balanced with a savory touch.
