Domaine Francois Carillon Puligny Montrachet "Le Clos du Vieux Chateau" 2022, 750ml

This 100% Chardonnay is sourced from a 0.64-hectare monopole plot situated directly behind the estate house in the village of Puligny-Montrachet, planted on gravelly, clay-limestone soils. The grapes were gently pressed and fermented with native yeasts in French oak barrels (15% to 20% new oak). The wine aged on its fine lees in barrels for 12 months before resting in stainless steel tanks for an additional 6 months prior to bottling.

Tasting Note:

The wine opens with aromas of crisp green apple, white peach, lemon oil, subtle white blossom, wet stone minerality and a touch of light toast. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied and focused, offering concentrated orchard fruit flavors balanced by vibrant acidity. The finish is long, clean, and structured, ending on a crisp mineral note.
