Domaine Rapet Chorey les Beaune Rouge 2021, 750ml
The roots of the old Chorey-les-Beaune vines reach deep into alluvial marly limestone soil on a stony, slightly ferruginous ground, descended from the Côte de Savigny and Aloxe over thousands of years.
The name Chorey comes from the Latin "Canus," meaning "Chariot," as the village was on the Roman road from Autun to Besançon, frequented by horses and carts in the 20s BC.
Fermentation lasts 15 days with punch downs, allowing the wine to soak up the richness and color from the grape skins before pressing. The wine ages in 30% new oak barrels.
Tasting Note
A beautiful expression of Pinot Noir with small fruits such as raspberry and redcurrant. The palate is supple, delicious and harmonious. It reveals very pleasant fine woody notes on the finish.
