Domaine Rapet Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru "Le Clos du Village" Blanc 2020, 750ml

Clos du Village, a monopole of Domaine Rapet, is a tiny 1er Cru located in the heart of the village near the church and hidden by stone walls. In this Clos, Chardonnay thrives, protected from the wind and benefiting from a gentle slope, shallow soil, and exceptional exposure.

The 0.8-hectare plot has Premier Cru status for white wines from Chardonnay, granted in 2000. If any Pinot Noir is grown here, the wine would be labeled with the Pernand-Vergelesses appellation.

The grapes are pressed using a pneumatic press for two hours. After settling at low temperatures for 24 hours, the juice is moved to barrels, with 30% being new, for fermentation. The wine ages on lees with stirring and is bottled after 12 months.

The wines are fruity and have great aromatic richness. They are fat, powerful. They can be enjoyed in their youth with great pleasure or kept for several years.
