Thibault Liger Belair Successeurs Corton Grand Cru "Les Renardes" 2019, 750ml is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Thibault Liger-Belair has been making this wine under his négociant label since 2005.
This 0.3-hectare plot, planted in 1956, is located on the mid-slope of the hill of Corton, one of the most prestigious climates of the region.
The vines grow on a soil that is very limestone-rich at the bottom of the hill and more clay-rich at the top, due to a limestone fault running through the middle of the plot.
The grapes are harvested by hand, with 40% whole clusters used. Fermentation lasts for three weeks with very moderate intervention. The wine is aged for 22 months, with 60% in new barrels.
Tasting Note:
This is a deeply aromatic wine, with abundant aromas of ripe blackberry, menthol, mineral and violets. On the palate, the texture is silky and very fine, yet there is a core of very firm tannins and great length.
