Domaine JC Rion Bourgogne Aligote 2021, 750ml
Jean-Charles is now at the head of the estate, son of Olivier Rion, grandson of Daniel Rion. Domaine Daniel Rion was founded in 1995 with 1 hectare, but quickly grew to 18 hectares, until the death of Daniel. Then the estate was divided among the children, of which Olivier received one third. Olivier passed it on to his son. Jean-Charles studied at the wine school of Beaune. Then in 2008 to 2010 he followed his father for three years. In 2011 he took over the helm and started this great challenge!
Only own fruit is used, no négociant fruit. The philosophy is culture raisonnée, which means to limit chemical agents as much as possible and to work as sustainably as possible. The plant material is obtained by 'sélection massa', which means that several cuttings are made from existing, well-performing vines. This creates a high quality and great diversity in the vineyard. The wines are precise, stable and true to their terroir.
