Domaine Lignier Michelot Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru "Cuvee Jules" 2019, 750ml

Named in honor of Virgile Lignier's grandfather, this 1er Cru cuvée is sourced from a blend of parcels (Les Chabiots, Les Châtelots, and Les Sentiers) situated along the foot of the slope in Chambolle-Musigny. The 2019 vintage was vinified with 100% whole clusters and aged in French oak barrels (approx. 30% to 50% new oak) for 12 to 15 months.

Tasting Note:

The wine opens with deep, opulent aromas of dark cherry, blackcurrant, and candied red fruits, accented by exotic floral tones, clove spice, espresso, and a subtle savory stem complexity. The palate is sappy, rich, and concentrated, displaying a core of ripe dark berry fruit anchored by firm, velvety tannins and lively acidity. The finish is long, structured, ending on notes of blood orange, dark chocolate, and sweet spices.
