Chateau de Chamirey Mercurey 1er Cru "La Mission" Monopole Blanc 2021, 750ml

"La Mission" 2021 a Monopole of Château de Chamirey’is made from 100% Chardonnay grown on a 1.92-hectare east/south-west facing vineyard above Clos du Roi in Mercurey. The soils are deep and well-draining, composed of clay, limestone, and sand. Vines were planted between 1961 and 1997. Grapes were hand-harvested, sorted, and gently pressed using a pneumatic press. After overnight settling, the juice was transferred by gravity into traditional 228-liter Burgundian barrels for fermentation and ageing, with 15% new oak sourced from Bourgogne, Allier, and Vosges forests. The wine matured for 14 months in barrel, followed by 3 months in tank before light filtration and bottling.

Tasting Note:

On the nose, it shows ripe apricot, white peach, and floral notes. The palate is medium-bodied, with a precise attack, mouthcoating texture, and a fresh, mineral-driven finish.
