Domaine Matrot Meursault 1er Cru "Blagny" 2017, 750ml

100% Chardonnay grown on limestone and clay soils at higher elevation above Meursault, where cooler conditions lend freshness and structure. The vines are around 30 years old and farmed sustainably. Grapes are picked by hand, pressed whole cluster, and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 10 to 20 percent new wood.

Tasting Note:

This rich, oak-aged wine is impressive and concentrated. With a spicy wood character and ripe apple, green plum and citrus fruit tones, it is intense and dense. The mineral texture, tight and tangy, and fresh finish marks the wine as one ready to age.
