Domaine Matrot Saint Romain Blanc 2019, 750ml
100% Chardonnay grown on 20-year-old vines planted on limestone-rich soils at high altitude (350–410 meters) in the Côte de Beaune. The grapes were harvested manually and whole-bunch pressed in a pneumatic press, followed by 24 hours of settling and barrel fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine underwent full malolactic fermentation and was aged for 12 months on fine lees in French oak barrels, with approximately 10% new wood.
Tasting Note:
On the nose, it reveals citrus, white flowers, and a touch of flint. The palate is fresh and mineral, with crisp acidity and a clean, saline finish. Overall, it’s a vibrant and finely etched Saint-Romain that reflects its cool-climate terroir with clarity and poise.
