Akayane 500 Series Sansho, 500ml
Akayane Distillery is an independently owned and operated distillery located in Ei, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
Established in 2006, it produces artisanal spirits using locally grown Satsuma imo sweet potatoes and crystal-clear, mineral-rich groundwater from Mount Kaimondake.
The distillery utilizes both European direct-heating and Japanese indirect-heating stills for distillation, and experiments with diverse cask types for maturation, including ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, and Japanese Mizunara oak.
A clear spirit made from the combination of Shochu (distilled from sweet potato) and infused with Sansho grown in Japan without any pesticides.
The impactful spicy flavor of sansho pepper amongst the gentle citrus notes, as if you were taking a breath of fresh forest air.
Drink it straight, mix with soda water, or use as a secret ingredient in cocktails.
