Hazelburn 8 Years Old Oloroso Cask Matured, 700ml

The unpeated sibling of Springbank, triple-distilled at the legendary Campbeltown distillery from floor-malted barley, this annual Sherry Wood limited edition is fully matured in fresh Oloroso sherry casks for its entire life. Distilled February 2017, bottled March 2025. 48.2% ABV. Limited to 10,500 bottles worldwide.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of raisin buns, berry compote, polished walnut, milk chocolate orange, allspice and a hint of coastal brine. With air, dried fig, toffee apple and subtle sherry acidity emerge, tied by a touch of heather honey.

The palate is vibrant and layered, opening with bramble jam, caramelised pecan and cranberry tartness, balanced by fine tannins and Oloroso grip. Mid-palate reveals vanilla custard, black pepper and flinty minerality, wrapped in oily Campbeltown silkiness. The finish is long and poised, fading through sherry sweetness, nutty warmth and a faint earthy echo.

A standout Hazelburn sherry expression, where Oloroso amplifies fruit and spice without losing finesse. Approachable now, with 5–8 years of graceful evolution ahead.
