Ca' del Baio "Vallegrande" Barbaresco 2021, 1.5L

Vallegrande is 100% Nebbiolo from the Vallegrande vineyard, located in the village of Treiso, planted bluish clayey-limestone marl soils. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 7 to 15 days without stems. It is then aged for 24 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by an additional 6 months of bottle ageing before release.

Tasting Note:

The wine has a garnet red color and offers intense aromas of red cherries, wild berries, dried roses, and hints of licorice and tobacco. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with well-integrated tannins and bright acidity, providing balance and freshness. Flavors of ripe red fruit, herbs, and earthy undertones evolve as the wine opens, leading to a long and graceful finish with a subtle minerality.
