Ca' del Baio "Vallegrande" Barbaresco 2019, 1.5L

Valgrande is a traditional-style Barbaresco where Nebbiolo is aged exclusively in large casks, as in the past. This wine shows the elegance of Barbaresco without strong tannins. The vines, planted since 1967, grow in bluish clayey-limestone marl soils with a west-facing exposure.

Traditional destemmed, skin-fermentation lasts 7 to 15 days in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The wine then matures for 24 months in Slavonian oak casks, followed by 6 months of bottle aging before release.

Tasting Notes:

The Barbaresco from Ca del Baio is garnet red with intense aromas of red fruits and flowers on the nose. The wine is dry, smooth and well-rounded on the palate with nicely balanced tannins and a long finish.
