Martin Ray "Synthesis" Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, 750ml

Synthesis showcases Napa Valley's diverse terroir. A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot are sourced from various AVAs, including Yountville (30%), Rutherford (29%), Oakville (15%), Stags Leap District (12%), Howell Mountain (5%), Diamond Mountain (5%), and Mount Veeder (4%).

Alluvial soils from the valley floor contribute to the fruit profile, while volcanic soils from the mountains add structure and tertiary notes.

Fermented in small, open-top fermenters for 14 days with pump-overs for optimal extraction. Aged for 16 months in 62% new French oak barrels.

Tasting note:

Complex and polished with deep red fruit and powerful core of dusty earth. Tart cherry, elderberry with touches of savory herbs. Sweet cocoa dust and nutmeg with structured, supple tannins and a hint of vanilla.
