Joh. Jos. Prum "Wehlener Sonnenuhr" Riesling Kabinett 2023, 750ml
100% Riesling grown on steep, south-southwest-facing slopes of highly reflective, weathered gray slate in the Mosel Valley, shaped by the vineyard’s 70% gradient and mineral-rich soils and ungrafted vines averaging 40 years of age. Grapes were hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously in stainless steel tanks using native yeasts, with no oak influence and no malolactic fermentation. The wine is bottled with 8.5% alcohol and approximately 40 g/L of residual sugar.
Tasting Note:
On the nose, it shows honeysuckle, white peach, and Asian pear, with subtle floral and wet-stone notes. The palate is light-bodied and silky, with lemon zest, cool slate minerality, and a long, precise finish. Overall, it is a refined and expressive Kabinett, shaped by the vineyard’s 70% gradient and highly reflective slate soils, which intensify ripening and lend the wine its signature clarity, elegance, and mineral depth.
Residual Sugar approx.: 40g/l
