North Port 42 Year Old is a single cask release from G&M Recollection Series #3, which features rare whiskies from closed distilleries. Distilled in 1981 and bottled in 2024 at 50.9% ABV, this Highland single malt was matured for 42 years in a refill American hogshead (Cask #2072), yielding 132 bottles. It is non-chill filtered and bottled without added colour. The distillery, also known as Brechin, was demolished in the 1990s, and this bottling preserves its dry and fruity style through extended maturation.

Tasting Note:

On the nose, the whisky opens with honeycomb, papaya, apricot, mango, and zested clementine, backed by grapefruit peel and bitter oak3. The palate is rich and layered, showing mandarin, ripe apricot, gingersnaps, grilled pineapple, dried mango, and gentle oak. The finish is drying and medium in length, with lingering spice and fruit. This bottling offers a vibrant and mature profile shaped by decades of slow ageing and the distinctive character of a lost Highland distillery.
