Oban 14 Year Old, 700ml

Oban Distillery was founded in 1794 by brothers Hugh and John Stevenson, predating the town that later grew around it. Located on Scotland’s west coast, it is one of the smallest distilleries in the country, operating just two pot stills. Oban is owned by Diageo and is part of the Classic Malts Selection, representing the Western Highlands. The distillery uses water from two lochs in Ardconnel and ferments its barley for five days to develop depth of flavor. Its production style bridges the gap between smoky island malts and the lighter Highland profile, offering a coastal character with restrained peat and rich texture.

Tasting Note:

Nose: Aromas of orange peel, sea salt, and dried fig. 

Palate: Smooth and layered, showing notes of malt, honey, and soft smoke. A touch of spice and oak adds structure, while the finish is clean with hints of citrus and a light briny edge.

Finish: It presents a balanced style that reflects both its maritime setting and Highland tradition.
