Joh. Jos. Prum "Wehlener Sonnenuhr" Riesling Auslese 2023, 750ml

100% Riesling grown on steep, south-facing slopes of pure, weathered Devonian slate. Vines average 40 years of age and are ungrafted. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented slowly in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts, with no oak influence and no malolactic fermentation. The wine is bottled with residual sugar typical of the Auslese classification and shows 7.5–8% alcohol.

Tasting Note:

On the nose, it reveals white peach, honeysuckle, and crushed slate, with subtle notes of pineapple and mangosteen. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, with concentrated stone fruit, vivid acidity, and a long, graceful finish. Overall, it is a refined and age-worthy Auslese, shaped by the vineyard’s steep gradient and highly reflective slate soils, which intensify ripening and lend the wine its signature mineral precision and aromatic depth.
