Benromach 2014 Cask Strength Batch 03, 700ml

Benromach Cask Strength Vintage 2014 Batch 03 is a limited release part of Benromach’s small-batch Cask Strength Vintage series. Distilled in 2014 and bottled in February 2024 at 60.6% ABV.
The whisky was matured for nine years in exclusively first-fill bourbon and sherry casks, and is non-chill filtered with natural colour. Benromach produces lightly peated single malts using spring water sourced from the Chapelton Spring in the Romach Hills. The distillery maintains a hands-on approach to whisky making, with direct-fired stills and manual controls to preserve its classic Speyside character.

Tasting Note:

On the nose, the whisky opens with sweet vanilla, fruitcake, and brown sugar, layered with spicy ginger, cinnamon, and milk chocolate. The palate is creamy and full-bodied, showing stewed plum, Seville orange, and cracked black pepper, followed by toasted oak and subtle liquorice. The finish is long and warming, with lingering smoke, aniseed, and hints of dark chocolate and charred oak. This batch delivers a robust and complex profile, showcasing Benromach’s signature balance of fruit, spice, and gentle smoke.
