Bunnahabhain 25 Year Old, 700ml

The pinnacle of Bunnahabhain's core range from the remote north-eastern coast of Islay, this unpeated single malt is double-distilled from floor-malted barley and matured for 25 years predominantly in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, with a portion in ex-bourbon barrels for balance. Non-chillfiltered, natural colour. Bottled at 46.3% ABV.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of sherry sweetness with polished leather, caramel toffee, ripe berries and a hint of coastal brine, lifted by orange peel and minty oak. With air, notes of dried figs, roasted walnuts, dark chocolate and antique book bindings evoke an Islay warehouse by the sea.

The palate is smooth and layered, opening with sweet berries and cream, then roasted nuts, malt and sherried plum, balanced by blood orange, vanilla fudge and gentle cinnamon. Fine tannins and graphite add depth, wrapped in oily silkiness.

The finish is long and poised, fading through toffee, toasted brioche, sea salt and herbal sweetness.
An elegant Islay classic marrying sherry richness with maritime purity, complex and harmonious without peat. Sublime neat or with a drop of water.
