Glen Scotia 2000, 24 Year Old "Connoisseurs Choice" G&M, 700ml

Distilled 21 February 2000, bottled January 2025 from single cask #87 (sibling to the acclaimed Oloroso-finished #86). Matured initially in a refill American hogshead until 2021, then finished for four years in a first-fill Oloroso puncheon. Cask strength, 55.7% ABV. Limited to approximately 590 bottles.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of dunnage warehouse, creosote, harbour ropes, treacle, stewed figs, sherry-soaked cherries, espresso, damp slate and Glen Scotia’s waxy rind, with coal dust smoke, walnut oil and flinty minerality emerging over time.

The palate is powerful and layered: date syrup and raisin give way to oily peat, briny kelp, dark chocolate, cracked pepper and Campbeltown’s crayon-wax texture. Mid-palate shifts to crisp minerality and iodine, finishing with sea brine, cigar ash, Seville orange and fading woodsmoke.

An exceptional Glen Scotia, combining elevated proof with precision and poise. At its peak now yet built to evolve for decades.
