Domaine Matrot Blagny "La Piece Sous le Bois" Rouge 2019, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir grown in a high-altitude, limestone-rich parcel above Meursault, where Chardonnay and Pinot Noir coexist on the same terroir. The vines are approximately 40 years old and farmed sustainably. The grapes were fully destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts, followed by ageing in French oak barrels for 15 to 18 months, with around 20–25% new wood.

Tasting Note:

On the nose, the wine shows dark cherry, rhubarb, and pressed herbs with a smoky, meaty undertone. The palate is fresh and structured, with lively acidity and firm tannins that frame the fruit. Overall, it’s a mineral-driven and expressive Blagny that combines aromatic lift with depth and ageing potential.
