Domaine Jean Marc Boillot Beaune 1er Cru "Epenottes" 2021, 750ml
Domaine Jean Marc Boillot Beaune 1er Cru "Epenottes" 2021, 750ml is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
100% Pinot Noir from old vines in the Les Epenottes climat, a Premier Cru site in the southern part of Beaune with east/southeast exposure on clay-limestone soils. The domaine hand-harvests the grapes, which are fully destemmed. Vinification includes a cold pre-fermentation maceration followed by traditional fermentation with native yeasts. The wine is aged in French oak barrels with a proportion of new oak.
Tasting Note:
The 2021 opens with aromas of dark cherry, red plum, blackberry, damp earth, and subtle spice with floral undertones. The palate is medium to full-bodied with concentrated red and dark fruit, ripe yet firm tannins, vibrant acidity, good depth, and a long, earthy, mineral-driven finish. Structured, balanced, and built for ageing.
Region: Beaune
Variety: Pinot Noir
Rating: Jasper Morris 89-92
