Domaine Jean Marc Boillot Pommard 1er Cru "Jarollieres" 2021, 750ml
Domaine Jean Marc Boillot Pommard 1er Cru "Jarollieres" 2021, 750ml is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
100% Pinot Noir from old vines planted between 1929 and 1945 in the Les Jarollières climat, a well-situated Premier Cru on the border with Volnay in Pommard. The vineyard sits on mid-slope clay-limestone soils rich in iron and stratified scree (grèzes litées) with east/southeast exposure. The domaine hand-harvests the grapes, which are fully destemmed. Vinification includes a cold pre-fermentation maceration followed by traditional fermentation with native yeasts. The wine is aged for around 13-16 months in French oak barrels with approximately 30% new oak.
Tasting Note:
The 2021 opens with aromas of dark cherry, black plum, raspberry, damp earth, sous-bois, and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied with concentrated dark fruit, firm yet ripe tannins, structured depth, vibrant acidity, and a long, earthy, mineral-driven finish. Powerful, serious, and built for long ageing.
