Domaine Jean Marc Boillot Monthelie "Les Sous Roches" Rouge 2022, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir from the Les Sous Roches lieu-dit in Monthélie on steep, east-facing slopes with rocky Jurassic limestone soils. The domaine hand-harvests the grapes, which are fully destemmed. Vinification includes a cold pre-fermentation maceration in stainless steel tanks followed by traditional fermentation with native yeasts. The wine is aged in French oak barrels with a proportion of new oak.

Tasting Note:

The 2022 opens with aromas of bright red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, damp earth, and subtle spice. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh red fruit, silky yet structured tannins, lively acidity, good depth, and a long, earthy, mineral-driven finish. Elegant, balanced, and classic with fine ageing potential.
