Glenfarclas 40 Year Old, 700ml

Glenfarclas 40 Year Old is part of the distillery’s core aged range and was first released in 2010 at the Spirit of Speyside Festival. It is produced at the family owned Speyside distillery established in 1836, using unpeated spirit distilled in direct gas fired stills and matured entirely in oloroso sherry casks. The whisky is bottled at 43 percent ABV and carries no vintage or single batch statement. Glenfarclas sources its production water from springs on the slopes of Ben Rinnes, which supply the distillery through a long standing agreement dating from 1930. 

Tasting Note:

Aroma: Deep dive into rich sherry - figs, dates, polished leather, whispers of orange marmalade.

Palate: Lush velvet, spiced fruitcake unfolds - cinnamon, cloves, honey, a hint of walnut tobacco.

Finish: Oak embers glow long, mocha fades with whispers of citrus and chocolate.
