Domaine Guy Amiot Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru "La Maltroie" Rouge 2022, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir from old vines (some over 100 years old) in the La Maltroie Premier Cru climat in Chassagne-Montrachet on clay-limestone soils. The domaine hand-harvests the grapes, which undergo a few days of cold pre-fermentation maceration. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts, followed by gentle extraction. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels with a moderate percentage of new oak, then blended in tank for an additional period before bottling.

Tasting Note:

The 2022 opens with aromas of red cherry, raspberry, black plum, violet, damp earth, and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied with vibrant red and dark fruit, silky yet structured tannins, lively acidity, good depth, and a long, earthy, mineral-driven finish. Elegant, complex, and balanced with excellent ageing potential.
