Domaine Baron Thenard Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru "Ile des Vergelesses" Rouge 2019, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir grown in the Premier Cru "Île des Vergelesses" in Pernand-Vergelesses. The vineyard lies on southeast-facing slopes with clay-limestone soils. Grapes were manually harvested and fully destemmed before fermentation in oak vats using ambient yeast. Ageing took place in French oak barrels, with around 5% of new oak, for approximately 14 months.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of black cherry, fig, forest floor, and subtle oak spice. The palate is medium-bodied, with fresh acidity, firm tannins, and a tight structure, showing red and black currant, nutty tones, and restrained fruit. Overall, the wine is serious and age-worthy, with a classic Burgundian profile and notable tension.
