Rockford "Moppa Springs" GSM 2019, 750ml

Fruit sourced from vineyards in Moppa Springs, Ebenezer, and Kalimna. This challenging terrain is cold, wet, and frosty during pruning, then hot, dry, and dusty during harvest—conditions that bring out the best in Grenache, Mataro, and Shiraz. 

The grapes are hand-picking and crushed with a 1880s Bagshaw crusher, fermented in open slate tanks, and gently pressing in a Basket Press. The wines mature in large oak vats and hogsheads before being blended.

Tasting Note:

Kind of walnutty and some perfume in the mix too. Red and black fruit, savoury tobacco and dark chocolate flavours, medium-bodied, fine grained tannin, tastes dark, but keeps itself pretty fresh.
