Den-En Shimazuhan Sweet Potato Shochu, 720ml
DEN-EN Shuzo is a distillery is situated in Satsumasendai, in Kagoshima, and a pioneer in the production of barrel-aged shochus. Since 1956 shochu are stored barrels there.
The company is constantly innovating in barrel storage techniques, including the use of Mizunara barrels for storing rice shochu.
All of the ingredients used in Satsuma shochu "Shimadzuhan" are sourced from Kagoshima, including the sweet potato, koji, and yeast.
For the koji fungus, we use "sweet potato koji" created by the Kagoshima Prefecture Technology Research Group, and "Kawachi Koji White Fungus". Additionally the "Kagoshima No. 5 Yeast" is use for fermentation.
Shimadzuhan has a neutral flavor on the palate, but an intense sweet potato aroma.
