Domaine Andre Brunel Chateauneuf du Pape "Les Cailloux" 2020, 750ml
The vineyard is composed of multiple plots, each with unique characteristics that contribute to the wine's complexity. Bois de la Ville and Les Serres have gravel beds that provide excellent drainage, resulting in very concentrated juice. Farguerol and Cansaud feature red and blue clays, which add rich aromatic properties. Cabrières and Revès have chalky limestone that gives the wine its structure and long finish.
The vinification process involves using concrete vats and fully destemming the grapes. The wine is aged for 18 months in concrete vats. The harvest is done exclusively by hand. The blend consists of 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah. The vines have an average age of 60 years, and the yield is 30 hl/ha, contributing to the wine's depth and concentration.
Tasting Note:
Aromas of red fruits enhanced by a woody touch from the barrel-contained Syrah grapes. A great taste of red fruits, black fruits. The tannins are harmonious and elegant. Very long finish with complex aromas of orange peel, garrigue notes and white pepper.
