Jean Luc Colombo Cotes du Rhone "Les Abeilles" Rouge 2024, 750ml

Named "Les Abeilles" ("The Bees") to highlight the estate's dedication to bee conservation and sustainable viticulture across the region. Sourced from 25-year-old vines planted on stony, sandy-clay terraces near Cairanne, Rasteau, and Vacqueyras. Composed of equal parts Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre (33% each), the grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with gentle extraction. The wine ages for 9 to 10 months in neutral stainless steel tanks and lightly seasoned French oak barrels before bottling.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of dark cherry, fresh raspberry, and wild strawberry pair with cracked black pepper, licorice, and garrigue herbs. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, delivering a core of red berry fruit framed by fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is clean and spicy, closing on notes of red currant, cocoa, and dried herbs.
