Domaine Francois Carillon Saint-Romain Blanc Combe Bazin 2022, 750ml

This 100% Chardonnay is sourced from the steep, high-elevation parcel of Combe Bazin in Saint-Romain, planted on stony clay-limestone and marly soils. The grapes were gently pressed and fermented with native yeasts in French oak barrels (15% to 20% new oak). The wine aged on its fine lees in barrels for 12 months before resting in stainless steel tanks for an additional 6 months prior to bottling.

Tasting Note:

The wine opens with aromas of white peach, crisp green apple, white flowers, citrus oil, crushed stone minerality and subtle toasted oak. The palate is vibrant, energetic, and taut, offering juicy stone fruit and citrus flavors balanced by Saint-Romain's signature lively acidity and a chalky, mineral core. The finish is long, crisp, and refreshing, ending on a clean saline note.
