Chateau de Chamirey Mercurey 1er Cru "La Mission" Monopole Blanc 2017, 750ml
La Mission, a monopole of Château de Chamirey, consists of three small plots planted between 1961 and 1997. The east/south-west facing vineyard sits on a hilltop above Premier Cru 'Clos du Roi' with deep, draining soils of clay, limestone, and sand.
Fermentation and aging occur in traditional 228-liter Burgundian barrels for 15 months with no new barrels, using lightly toasted French oak from Allier and Vosges forests. The wine spends two months in tanks and undergoes light filtration before bottling.
Tasting Note:
The nose reveals aromas of lime, yellow fruits, citrus, and vanilla, with hints of brioche and light caramel. There’s a touch of spice and notable complexity.
On the palate, it showcases a pronounced oaky character with a long, persistent finish. The wine is balanced and dense.
