Domaine Albert Grivault Meursault 1er Cru "Perrieres" 2016, 750ml
Domaine Albert Grivault’s Meursault Perrières comes from two plots totaling 1.54 hectares. As the leading owner in this 13-hectare appellation, Grivault benefits from a mix of brown, clayey, and sandy limestone soil. The vineyard is positioned on a hillside with a south-southwest orientation.
The vines, averaging 35 years old in 2019, produce around 9,300 bottles annually. This wine reflects the unique terroir of Meursault Perrières with its balanced soil composition and ideal hillside location.
Tasting Note:
It offers a restrained, mineral-driven aroma with hints of chalk. Though initially reserved, the palate reveals bright flavors of kiwi and green apple, finishing with a refreshing austerity reminiscent of Chablis. While the wine's full potential may not be immediately apparent, its inherent elegance suggests it will develop further with time.
