Yannick Amirault Bourgeuil "Pavillon du Grand Clos" Monopole 2020, 750ml
Pavillon is a monopole overlooking the famous hillside of "Le Grand Clos," located at the top of the village of Bourgueil. After 50 years of abandonment, the enclosure was restored, leveled, and replanted by Yannick in 1997. This single plot covers only 0.21 hectares and features clay soil (1 to 2 meters) on Turonian limestone. The vineyard has natural grass cover and tillage under the rows.
The grapes are 100% hand-harvested and undergo double sorting with destalking (no crushing). Alcoholic fermentation occurs in a cone oak vat with a skin maceration period of four weeks. The wine is aged for 24 months in two 450L oak barrels.
Tasting Note:
A very generous wine with a subtle varietal identity, based on a dense andย melted tannin structure.
