AnCnoc 12 Year Old, 700ml
The AnCnoc single malt Scotch whisky, produced at the Knockdhu Distillery, boasts a rich history dating back to 1894. Founded by John Morrison, the distillery originally operated under the name Knockdhu, earning a reputation for its innovative spirit.
In 1988, it was acquired by Inver House Distillers and renamed AnCnoc, reflecting its Gaelic roots meaning "the hill."
AnCnoc remains utilizing only unpeated Scottish barley and ensuring a long fermentation process in Douglas fir washbacks. The whisky matures in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, contributing to its distinct character.
The AnCnoc 12 Years Old serves as the distillery's core expression, showcasing its signature style: balanced, smooth, and subtly fruity with notes of honey, vanilla, and oak.
Nose: Soft, very aromatic with a hint of honey and lemon in the foreground.
Palate: Sweet to start with an appetising fruitiness and a long smooth finish. Light yet complex, smooth yet challenging. This is a dram that has something for everyone.
