Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay Reserve 2021, 750ml

The Carneros appellation, Napa Valley's southernmost region, offers ideal conditions for Chardonnay with its cool, windswept vineyards and loamy soils. The extended growing season produces grapes with high acidity and balance. Estate vineyards—Cuttings Wharf, Milton Road, Foster Road, and Tinsley—yield a distinctive, full-bodied Chardonnay Reserve with great intensity and freshness.

100% Chardonnay (harvested at night and whole cluster pressed).

Aged for 10 months in 33% new French oak, 19% concrete eggs, 5% in puncheons, 43% in neutral French oak; 35% Malolactic.

Tasting Notes:

The nose reveals hints of vanilla, peppery spice, orange, and pineapple. The medium to full-bodied palate is plump and rounded, offering an enjoyable experience with a lively, clean finish highlighted by a touch of citrus.
