Domaine Rapet Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2023, 750ml

100% Chardonnay from just over three hectares, primarily (around 95%) in the En Charlemagne climat on the Pernand-Vergelesses side with a small portion in Le Charlemagne on the Aloxe side. The domaine farms organically with hand-harvested grapes that are gently pressed as whole clusters. The wine is fermented and aged mostly in 350-liter French oak barrels (around 30% new), along with some larger foudres, an egg, and a terracotta amphora, with lees ageing.

Tasting Note:

The 2023 opens with aromas of lemon and lime, peach, pear, white flowers, wet stones, crushed mint, and hazelnut with subtle oak spice. The palate is full-bodied, satiny and layered with rich yet precise fruit, racy acidity, powerful concentration, chalky minerality, and a long, saline, persistent finish. Majestic, harmonious, and built for long ageing.
